This beautiful coffee from Lot 3 on the small holding of Mustefa Abakeno, is bright and complex. We have roasted this light to medium  which highlights the notes of stone fruits and brown sugar. Full of flavour and  Best brewed as a drip filter to bring out all the character. This one is a real favourite.
Process: Washed

Just perfect
First time buying one of Kata’s roasts to use in my first ever bean to cup machine. I always used a pre ground Ethiopian bean in the aeropress before this, so with the new coffee machine I went on the hunt for an Ethiopian bean from a roaster I hadn’t tried before and I’ve struck gold

Smooth Brew!
Lovely Ethiopian bean. Prepared using the Aeropress and I found it to be smooth, with a rich body. Light but getting toward a Medium roast

Very bitter
For a roast that is supposedly light/medium it was incredibly bitter. Struggled to get anything resembling a nice cup of coffee after a week of trying different grind settings.
KATA Coffee Roasters
Hi Joe, really disappointed that you didn’t enjoy the coffee and that you found it bitter. I’ve been getting coffee from this farm since I started and have always enjoyed it and had positive feedback. I’ve checked the coffee since your review and found it to be balanced and bright. Many thanks for your feedback and I’ve sent you a private email also. Best regards . Pete

Wonderful as usual
Fantastic coffee. Excellent service. A ray of sunshine in an otherwise bleak existence.

Definitely buy it and try it
So I was introduced to the talents of Pete at Kata Roasters through a restaurant next to my work that use his incredible coffee beans. my coffee grinder of 20 odd years packed in & the owner of the restaurant mentioned he had just bought a grinder from Pete so I checked it out, then bought one,it's brilliant!.I like drinking my coffee almost every way & Pete's grinder accommodates each style of grind perfectly.thats where it started for me with Kata . I've lost count of the amount of bags I received from Kata but I've truly enjoyed every single sip I've had. absolutely wonderful coffee be it shots, filter, moca or press, with or without milk.each bringing out the subtle flavours in Pete's skilful roasts.i am glad Glasgow has someone, like Pete, that can produce such a skilled level of flavours out his beans, what craftsmanship.i haven't had an Italian roast in months!nor I'm I missing it.. so if you are wondering whither to give Kata a go,don't hesitate.i couldn't pick a favourite roast I love them all.. his website is very informative and will lead you to your preferred style of drinking but I would urge you to also purchase the Clever Dripper( it's about£25) what terrific job it makes of Pete's roasts!!it smoothes everything out but still packs a flavour punch! a great gadget! Anyway, you get the picture, tremendous roasts by a tremendous guy.im glad I gave him a try.
